    Steve,

Gateway Center in Collinsville IL is served by Madison County Transit (MCT) so it won’t show up in Metro’s TripFinder.

    Check out:
    http://www.mct.org/

However, neither bus route in Collinsville (the #15 Collinsville-Fairview Heights, connecting with MetroLink at Fairview Heights; or the #18 Collinsville Metrobus, connecting with MetroLink at Emerson Park) operates on Sundays. The only MCT service on Sunday is on the Tri-City Metrobus to Granite City, and the Riverbend to Alton. The bluff communities are not serviced on Sundays.

But if you’re really ambitious, you could take MetroLink to Fairview Heights and then walk or bicycle the 7 miles north along IL 157 (Bluff Road)!

  2. Jeff says:

    Steve,

Thanks for posting! Yes there are no buses running on Sunday to connect from Metrolink (Fairview Heights)to the Gateway Center. Try carpooling! For the die hard bike commuters you could try bicycling and there are some directions on the St. Louis Bikefed Yahoo Groups. Walking 7 miles will take one an awefully long time. I remember running at about 1 hour for every 5 miles. You could easily give it 2 hours to walk! So round trip is 4 hours! That is a general estimate. Cycling is the way to go if you can deal with the temps! I do about 10 miles in one hour!

Thanks again steve and maybe I will see you there if you can make it!?

    Keep Cycling!
