Juvenile Court Judge to speak at March Public Affairs Meeting

The monthly meeting of the First District Police Public Affairs will be held this month on Thursday March 24, 2005. Normally the meeting is held on the third Thursday of each month but it was moved this month due to a conflict with St. Patrick’s Day.

The meeting will begin at 7pm and will be located this month at the Windsor Community Center at 4092 Robert:

This month’s guest speaker will be Juvenile Court Judge Jack Garvey. If you’ve ever wondered how the juvenile court works (or doesn’t work) this is the meeting for you.

Jack Garvey has served as an Associate Circuit Court Judge for St. Louis City since 1998. He also has taught as an Adjunct Professor in this school’s Trial Practice program. Judge Garvey’s prior practice experience includes a 3-year stint as an Assistant Circuit Attorney in the City and nearly 10 years in private practice. He also served for 4 years as a Member of St. Louis Board of Aldermen. Judge Garvey received his B.A. from St. Louis University in1983 and his J.D. from Rutgers University Law School-Camden in 1986.
