Up & Eating

March 16, 2008 Steve Patterson 12 Comments

Afew days ago I shared A horrible picture of myself when I was in ICU (view post).  Well below is a much better time.

Saturday night my good friend Marcia and I shared a pizza from Piazza della Pizzeria – in the lounge on my floor at St. Mary’s.  Unlike when I first arrived at rehab, I was able to sit upright and maintain my own balance- not an easy task. the excellent staff assisted me into the chair, but I can now stand on my own rather than having to be lifted to get vertical.

I know that in time people will again see me walking around taking pictures of bad development practices.

    Steve,
That’s some good looking deep dish pizza, and Marcia is one great friend to bring you pizza (and I think she takes a better picture than Rich, so I wouldn’t think the jury is likely to reward him with more than a slice of the pie). Hope the pizzeria appreciates the free advertising and provides you a barter reward in the future when you next drop in on them. Anyway, I agree, this is the way that I remember you, devouring a favorite meal around the table. We’ll have to do salmon again at Cattleman’s in OKC!
    Love you,
    Randy

You need a shave. (on your head that is)

Brooke can’t get this site at work and will be very happy to hear that you’re up and eating pizza. And with nice balanced smile, too, I might add.

Just know we’re thinking about you!

Love that twirl of the yellow cape. So rakish.

…but there aren’t any bad development practices.

    Steve,

You are looking great! I am still partial to the blue hospital gown, but that yellow cape is a close 2nd. It is so good to see you smile!
Every little milestone you accomplish is so impressive. Keep up the good work!

    Love You!!

Steve — you look great — and you must be feeling better because you fixed whatever wasn’t working with the site and now I can view posts without getting that blasted twirly wheel on my Mac forever. Brad

Steve, how do we know that this whole stroke thing isn’t just an elaborate cover-up for a little nip/tuck & liposuction? You are indeed looking thinner….

The lengths some people will go to for pizza! It’s great to see your voracious vegetarian desires back in play, and that you are communing with your laptop once more.

I admire your tenacity and spirit. Keep it up and know our thoughts and wishes for restored Stevenicity are with you!

And not a mention of the Nutri-Grain bars I brought you…

    Steve!

I’ve been out of town & am just catching up on your great progress. So glad you’re doing so much better. I sent you a postcard – to your home addy tho. Hope you get it. You would absolutely love Barcelona if you haven’t already been. You should start planning a trip there (tho to use the metro you do have to have pretty good balance on two feet, so I suggest waiting until you’ve got that back under control) but maybe you’d opt for the plethora of scooters instead. 😉

Steve, glad to see you looking better; I hope you’re also feeling better.
